Well Thursday was my last Junior Achievement session for this term. Mr. Andrews had a great group of students at Hartsville High School. I visited the class once a week for about 45 minutes, to bring a real world view to the lessons they were learning. We talked about auto loans, credit cards, interest rates, budgets, insurance, taxes, salaries, real estate mortgages, bankruptcy, and investing. I enjoy sharing my experiences (good and bad) with the students. Junior Achievement was an important influence in my life when I was in high school. I feel it is my duty and priviledge to "pay it forward" and volunteer for JA today. I have volunteered for JA in Hamilton OH, Ft. Myers FL, and here in Hartsville, teaching most every grade level.
Thanks to JA of Columbia for offering all grade level programs in Darlington. Also Thank You to Mr. Andrews for making it such a joy to give back to the community and the student through JA. And lastly, thanks to the students for asking good questions, listening, and not sleeping (much). I hope my presence was valuble in some small way! Shoudl you wish to learn more about becoming a JA volunteer, please email me at UCmba97@aol.com Until next term.....Let their success be your inspiration.
Angel
