Did I hear Motorcycles??

Friday morning, October 28th. I'm at my desk getting ready to begin my day, when a strange sound captures my attention. The low rumble of motorcycles, and they stopped nearby. I brought Dogmo to work with me because we are having an office Halloween party later this afternoon. Let's go see if we can find the bikes. Oh my, right outside the front entrance, all lined up in the circle. I spent quite a few minutes talking with the riders. Seems one fellow was a Sonoco Retiree who had moved to Conway SC. He had arranged a tour for all his riding buddies, and they had come to see how Sonoco makes paper and paper cores and tubes. How cool is that. A nice group of older gentlemen. I bet they had a great day! Here's a few pictures of the bikes infront of my office!

Sonoco's Lakeview Club Fall Carnival 2005

Tonight, Wednesday October 26th, Dogmo and I went to the Lakeview Club for Sonoco's annual Fall Carnival. Lakeview Club membership is open to Sonoco Employees and retirees. The Club offers fitness classes, family fun nights, and other events like the Fall Carnival. The Club also has a swimming pool, a bowling alley, pool tables, and a big screen TV. Thanks to Becky Gooden for all the time and effort she puts into organizing these great events!

The witching hour was 6pm. Games, crafts, snacks, sodas and of course, candy were enjoyed by all. A spooky hayride, and big inflatable slide were hilights of the evening. There were dozens and dozens of youngsters in costumes. Please be sure to view all of the pictures taken this evening by clicking http://ucmba97.photoreflect.com

Sonoco Employees: Should you see a picture you would like, give me a call at extension is 7510, and I can email the image to you. The image can be saved on a disk and taken to Wal-mart for prints. Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!

Doom Movie......ok, not great, rated R

Well, we saw the Doom movie tonight. The movie is based on a PC game, first person shooter, of the same name. Lucky for me admission is only $1.50 in Hartsville. It was bloody and gorry, not much plot. And if the 'F' word is offensive, then don't go see this one. Of course, they left it open for a sequal. I'm sure every Doom playing teenager will see it. But really, there is nothing spectacular about it. It's just a bunch of Marines, killing a bunch of monsters on Mars, after a science experiment goes bad, trying to keep earth safe. Just another movie based on a video game......
