Ah, October! means HOCKEY SEASON! Game on!

Well tomorrow is October 1st. Where does the time go? It was noticably cooler this morning, barely 70. THIS MEANS IT'S HOCKEY SEASON!!! FINALLY! The chase for Lord Stanley's Cup begins again!
Tonight I leave for Myrtle Beach Fall Bike Rally. Dogmo and I will be home Sunday with lots of pictures. Maybe the hogpics guys will catch us riding while there. Check them out at www.hogpics.com

Upcoming events:
HOCKEY, HOCKEY, HOCKEY & MORE HOCKEY!!!!!!
Oct 8th: the 23rd SC Sweet Potato Fest in Darlington. I didn't know you could do so many things with sweet potatos (chips, fries, ice cream, pie, turnovers, candy, fudge and more).
Oct 15th: I hope to go see Joe and his marching band in competition at the Effingham HS Coastal Empire Classic in Springfield, GA. 1589 Highway 119 Sout. Admission $5 for all day.
Oct 22 & 23: the Carolina Riders are going on a fall colors ride to Lenoir NC. The Blue Ridge Parkway should be a beautiful ride. I'll keep my eyes open while traveling for the MR2 Spyder club, as they are running the Dragon this weekend.
Oct 29th: Then comes Halloween....which in past years hasn't brought much excitement to my door. guess the houses in my neighborhood are too far apart, and we don't have any street lights. But the Sonoco Club (my office sponsored recreation facility) will host a fall carnival on Oct 26th, and all the kids come in their costumes, so it feels like Halloween. SHould be a great opportunity to get some shots of cute little ones.

A busy October should mean lots of pictures to share.....nad lots more hockey talk. GO WINGS!

Brother's Grimm stinks!

We'll I again was a victim of great previews influencing me to see a terrible movie. Last night i saw the Borhter's Grimm. The previews made it look so "supernatural" and mysterious. It was in actuality way too long, slow to start, silly, boring, and an utter waste of time. I have not seen a worse movie since Lemony Snickett.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents for today.

This weekend we are off to the Fall Rally at Myrtle Beach. Dogmo and I will make a full report when we return. You never know what you'll see at a bike rally!!

Ebay buyers still surprise me!

Well I'm selling off some of my misc stuff on ebay again. Check out my auctions at http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZucmba97
But I was amazed tonight when one 20 yr old 2 inch tall tiny china colt (brown baby horse above) sold for over $150. This is one of those things that my Mom said would never make it thru another military move in one piece when I was a kid. Well it was one of the few pieces that never broke. Another small circus horse sold for $80 (picture above). I once sold a Coca-Cola town square house (I paid $12.50 + tax @target after christmas sale) on ebay years later for $350.00.
I guess when you collect something you'll pay anything to complete the set. Me? I'm using the money to pay for Dogmo and my first ever cruise vacation (in November). I listed 13 small china horses last monday. Those 13 items sold for over $300 total. That's almost half the cost of the cruise! Anyway, Ebay buyers never cease to amaze me. One person's junk is another person's treasure. Ian't America Wonderful?? Wonder what hidden treasures I can sell next?

The End of another weekend

Weekends go by so fast. Saturday we both rode our bikes to Columbia to ride on a short ride with our touring club, the Riders of the Carolinas (http://sc1riders.homestead.com/index.html ). It was unseasonably hot, but we enjoyed lunch at the LoneStar BBQ in Elloree, SC. I also got to take an 03 Goldwing for a spin. I think I'm in love! I thought I wanted a goldwing after sitting on one at the Honda dealership, now I know I have to have one. So come next spring, the RoyalStar will find a new home, and I will shop for my next 2 wheeled friend. 03 or newer, preferrably white, with a heel/toe shifter. I can't wait!!
Then today, it was vehicle day. We washed, vacuumed, waxed, and windexed 2 bikes, 1 pocket rocket and one truck. Wow they needed it. I was embarrased at how dirty the MR2 had gotten. I have recently been reading alot about the MR2 on the web. I think it's long overdue for a paint job and some general repairs (parking break cables, radio antenea, steam clean the interior, t-top seals, and such). It only has 145,000 miles, and I hope with TLC it will give me 100,000 more.

Next weekend, it's off to Myrtle Beach fall bike rally. Woohoo!! Satruday morning is a Star riders breakfast at the Golden Corral at 9am. Come by and say hello if you'll be at the rally. Now i'm off to read another chapter of the complete guide to digital photography. I love this new camera!
